Memorial WOD
“Kari”
Kari was first and foremost a CHEERleader- in so many ways. She passed away unexpectedly on May 11th, 2010 from a fatal brain hemorrhage. If you knew her, you'd know how much she meant to people. If you were a stranger, she would treat you as if you meant the world to her - even after only having known her for five minutes! This extended not only to social pursuits, but also to her passion for physical therapy and rehabilitation. As a friend, caretaker, fellow Crossfitter, and a Warrior; Kari fought adversity with love, passion, and unconditional support. Thank you so much for participating in honoring her passion and memory; she is surely cheering you on as fight through this workout!

ReplyDeleteThis was a great WOD. Did it with the 6am crew. Starting to have problems with my shoulder (don't know why and don't know how to fix it!) so I used 75#. 400 m run in the cold wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I actually enjoyed it!

ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone who made it out tonight and to Derek for programming this for her birthday. I know a lot of the newer peeps have little knowledge of who she was, but she meant the world to me and she'd be ecstatic knowing this was made in her honor. Hopefully it didn't scare anyone away :)

Those power cleans/burpees killed me. i was doing singles with pretty long breaks on the PCs. Tried to make up for it on the deads/BJs and the last 400. had that funny taste in my mouth after this one.
